The Gallery: Guidelines & Information
The Gallery at The Artistic Image is ready to schedule your exhibit! After a bit of work by some great people the calendar is open. We are excited to have a space that will include exhibits for all art genres including photography, painting, sculpture and installation art. Please read The Gallery Guidelines below for information on you can apply for an exhibit.
Image Guidelines for The Gallery at The Artistic Image
• Most exhibits will be for a two-week period hosted by one or two artists
• Standard two-week exhibition fee, $250
• Group shows will be permitted; however, one person must be appointed as the primary leader and contact
• There are no commission fees, all monies go directly to artist(s)
• Proposals for solo and group exhibits will be on an ongoing basis.
The Gallery at The Artistic Image is not responsible in any form for the art presented in the gallery.
A contract will be provided which will protect both the artist and the gallery. This must be signed 30 days prior to the show, and a 50% nonrefundable deposit must be paid at that time. The balance must be paid 14 days prior to the exhibition.

Submission Process: All Items sent to Gallery@PhotoArtNM.com
• Contact information along with links to any and all Internet presence
• 10 images of recent work, 300 dpi, 8 x 10 inches or equivalent, accompanied by title, size, medium and retail pricing
• A one page artist biography
• Naming Structure (example): bob-t-angel-01-3484.jpg. Last name-first initial-title-number of images sent (in sequence)-your catalog number.jpg
• If your work/project is accepted for the gallery, we will contact you.
• After review, artists' portfolios will be deleted if not accepted.
• Upon submitting your material, allow at least 1-2 weeks for a response.

Exhibit Space
The primary exhibit space is approximately 18x18-feet. A detailed drawing of the space is available for planning your exhibition. There is a kitchenette for preparing any food or drinks, as well as a small refrigerator. The gallery is located on the first floor, and is handicap accessible. The exhibit space is lit by moveable and adjustable LED track lights.
The Gallery responsibilities
• Provide assistance with exhibit display
• Provide staff member to assist at opening events
• Provide clean, well-lit gallery space
• Assist with promoting exhibit
• Maintain gallery availability during regular business hours (closed Sun/Mon)
Gallery Features
• Wi-Fi is available
• Three bins for matted/sealed prints are available
• Tables for food or display at opening night event
• Dishes for serving food or snacks (Paper plates and other consumables are not provided).
• A “Print hanging tool kit” (Nails, Hangers, Hammer, Tape Measure, Pencils, Paper, and a Laser Level)
Artist responsibilities
• Be responsible for all foods/snacks/beverages during opening
• Be responsible for all clean-up after opening
• If a second “reception” night is desired, permission from management is required
• All artist(s) (renters) must be present at their “Opening Night” exhibits.
• Music is permitted and must be provided by exhibitor and approved by Gallery Management
Note
This is a 100% non-smoking facility and if you permit wine to be served, you will be fully responsible for any legal and/or other consequences.
Presentation of art:
• All framed art will be presented in a professional manner following museum-quality guidelines: all two-dimensional work must be framed and backs covered, unless canvas gallery wrap or printed on metal.
• No “clip” frames
• No screw-eyes on frame backs and no saw tooth hangers
• All wires must be reach up to two-inches from the top of the piece and be able to support weight of artwork, and each piece should be labeled on the back with name, title of piece, and retail price
• Glass or acrylic artwork protection is recommended
• Wood or metal frames are acceptable (no plastic)
If there are any alterations to the gallery space for the exhibitor, they will be responsible for bringing the space to its original state at the conclusion of their exhibit.
